CHAPTER 01
Introduction I was the nerdy kid who watched everyone else date in high school and college while I was terrified to approach women. I wanted to meet someone, but I overthought every move and let opportunities pass because I was afraid of being rejected.
That frustration pushed me to study attraction, confidence, and the psychology of dating. I put what I learned into practice, made mistakes, and gradually became comfortable making the first move. Eventually, I became someone my younger self would barely recognize: a “Dating Shark,” a playboy who could approach a woman without letting fear decide for him.
Then I started helping other men do the same.
Over the years, men from all kinds of backgrounds came to me for help. Some were tall, handsome, and seemed confident. Others were shy or uncomfortable with their appearance. Whatever their circumstances, they wanted to know how to meet women and give themselves a real chance.
I recognized their struggles. One man could not start a conversation. Another could talk for hours but never made his interest clear. Someone else knew exactly what he wanted to say, then froze when a woman caught his attention. I remembered being the man standing there, trying to find the courage to speak.
We worked on those difficulties through practice. We focused on starting conversations, expressing interest, listening, and recognizing how the other person responded. We also addressed habits that kept getting in the way, including seeking approval and treating rejection as a judgment of personal worth.
Those years of learning and teaching became the foundation of Dating Shark.
What stood out was how each man developed his own style. A quiet man could become more comfortable showing interest while keeping his quiet nature. An outgoing man could learn to listen more closely. The same principles helped different men because each learned to apply them in a way that suited his personality.
That is the approach you will find in this book.
You will learn how to approach women you are attracted to, hold a conversation, make your intentions clear, and recognize mutual interest. You will also practice acting while you still feel nervous. Confidence grows as you gain experience and discover that you can handle the outcome.
Throughout the book, I explain why the advice works and when it applies. Men often ask me what to say to a particular woman or how to answer a message. Advice can help in that moment. Understanding the reasoning helps them make their own decisions when the next situation comes along.
I want you to develop that judgment. Every woman has her own preferences and boundaries. No method guarantees attraction, and recognizing when interest is mutual helps you decide whether to continue or move on.
